The Doors - Break On Through (To The Other Side) Promotional Video

The Doors made one of the earliest promotional "videos", or more correctly films, with Break On Through (To The Other Side) which was the first single from their debut record. It is very simply done with the use of lots of shadows and darkness framing the group as they played along to the studio recording and it helps that this is a really great song. This is the same technique many of the early videos shown on MTV used because it was cheap, quick and easy to do and it worked as you can see. The Beatles, Rolling Stones and The Who also made some in England during the mid 60's with more of a "story line" to some of them.
